--Prominent business leaders, senior government officials, and civil society representatives will gather together at the fourth Asia-Pacific Business Forum during the 63rd Commission session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, 18-19 May 2007.

The event, hosted by the UN Kazakhstan Country Team, marked the first time that 3 May, World Press Freedom Day was celebrated jointly by all UN agencies in Kazakhstan. The year 2007 is the 15th anniversary both of the United Nations in Kazakhstan as well as the 'Alma-Ata Declaration' that initiated dialogue on independent and pluralist media in Central Asia.
